En el marco del Día Nacional del Bombero Voluntario, dialogamos con Ede Berra, presidente del cuartel de Bomberos Voluntarios de General Levalle, quien repasó su extensa trayectoria en la institución, marcada por el compromiso, la vocación y una gran carga emocional.
“Yo voy a cumplir 45 años, la edad del cuartel. Entré como bombero, pasé por la actividad y luego por la comisión directiva. Nunca me fui. Una vez que se entra, no se sale más”, expresó.
Con alrededor de 30 a 35 personas activas actualmente, entre cadetes, aspirantes y bomberos, la institución se prepara para festejar su 45° aniversario el próximo 6 de julio, aunque la celebración oficial será el domingo 21 con una cena-show en el Club Deportivo Polo Independencia.
Durante la cena, se entregarán reconocimientos a bomberos jubilados, ascensos, distinciones por años de servicio y también se realizará el sorteo final de la rifa anual, cuyo primer premio será de 10 millones de pesos. Las entradas se venderán en formato de pulsera, permitiendo el ingreso y egreso libre durante la noche.
Entre emociones y recuerdos, Berra compartió los momentos más difíciles de su labor como bombero: los accidentes de ruta, especialmente aquellos que involucraban niños. “En mi época no había apoyo psicológico. Uno llegaba a casa, se encerraba solo en su pieza, y recién ahí podía descargar todo lo que había vivido”.
Finalmente, Ede invitó a la comunidad a visitar el cuartel durante el día, que estará abierto para recibir a estudiantes y vecinos que quieran conocer de cerca cómo trabajan los bomberos y cómo se sostiene una institución que es orgullo local.
“Quiero agradecer a toda la comunidad de Levalle. El aporte de cada vecino es lo que permite que esta institución siga creciendo”.
